(Dan Tri) – The Vietnamese market continuously receives new crossover models, and companies also actively launch incentive programs and price reductions to attract customers and increase competitiveness.
In the list of the 10 best-selling cars in Vietnam in 2023, there are 7 high-riding car models, the remaining 3 products are all B-size sedans. This statistic shows that the `taste` of domestic customers is increasingly focusing on luxury models.

Facing this trend, manufacturers continuously launch many products to the market to meet customer needs.
Or as with VinFast, when it was still producing gasoline cars, the company had both sedans (Lux A2.0) and hatchbacks (Fadil).
Why do Vietnamese customers prefer high chassis cars?
High chassis vehicles are considered a common trend in the world.

With a `high chassis, airy engine` design, SUV models (collectively referred to as both SUVs and crossovers) often have good ground clearance.
The design of SUVs also helps drivers easily maneuver in urban spaces, because the rear of the car is `truncated` compared to sedans.
Many people evaluate that high-clearance vehicles provide better visibility, making vehicle control easier and increasing safety.
Car companies keep up with the trend and compete for incentives
The boom of high-riding vehicles is also fueled by manufacturers actively launching SUV models in many segments, meeting a variety of user needs.
In the past, when mentioning SUVs, users often only had a few names such as Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest… What they all have in common is that they are body-on-frame and large in size (D-size SUV).

To expand choices, car manufacturers have launched more compact crossovers with unibody designs, targeting the needs of traveling in the city.
In 2020, Toyota brought the Corolla Cross to Vietnam, marking the Japanese brand’s race in the C (or B+) segment.
Similarly, Kia also has Sonet and Seltos as new names, adding to its high-clearance product range.

Customers benefiting from the race for high-riding vehicles with more and more options and accessible prices.
Currently, for around 500 million VND, customers can choose a high chassis car, such as Toyota Raize (498 million VND), Hyundai Venue (539-579 million VND), VinFast VF 5 Plus with battery (548 million VND).
The fiercest competition is the B-size SUV group, where there are currently dozens of products racing to find customers.
According to experts, the multi-purpose high chassis vehicle line in Vietnam promises to continue to grow in the near future.
