The car market at the end of the year is seeing a storm of car price reductions for both old and new cars, in which many used Chinese car models are being sold very cheaply, only a few tens of millions of dong.
At the end of the year, the car market, both old and new, is bustling with car buying and selling activities, especially in 2023, there are many rich choices of models due to sharp declines in car prices.
If a few years ago had about 50 million VND in hand, buyers had almost no choice of high-end used cars but only stuck around cars manufactured before 2000, with manual transmission.
Below are used Chinese car models with very cheap prices on the market:
Chery QQ 2009: 20-25 million VND
In April 2009, Chery officially sold cars in Vietnam with a unique model called QQ3, part of a market expansion campaign to Southeast Asia, Syria and South America.
The price of the QQ3 at that time was 9,900 USD (about 170 million VND, according to 2009 exchange rate), becoming the cheapest A-size urban car in the segment, competing directly with the Chevrolet Spark, which is selling for 14,000 – 16,000 USD (
However, sales of Chery QQ3 were not as expected.
A 2009 Chery QQ3 is priced at about 25 million VND.
Up to now, a few Chery QQ3s have been bought and resold as temporary cars, shelter from rain and sun, or practice driving because the resale price is quite cheap.
A common characteristic of cheap Chery QQ3 models such as motorbikes is that the exterior paint has been `retouched` many times, easily noticeable through light, the feeling is uneven because of many layers of putty.
Lifan 520 2008: 30-40 million VND
Lifan is a Chinese auto brand that decided to soon assemble cars in Vietnam.
Now, after about 15 years, the selling price of this vehicle on the market is only 30-40 million VND, equivalent to a common scooter.
On the outside, Lifan 520 has an eye-catching design compared to Japanese and Korean models of the same time.
The Lifan 520’s engine is a 1.6L, 5-speed manual transmission, advertised to have a fuel consumption of 5.64 liters of gasoline per 100km and a maximum speed of 220km/h.
According to many users of the Lifan 520, this is a Chinese sedan with the advantages of being less outdated, easy to repair, easy to drive and cheap.
BYD F0 2011: 70 million VND
In 2011, when the BYD F0 started selling in Vietnam, many people mistakenly thought it was a Toyota Aygo because of its eerily similar appearance.
After about 12 years, BYD F0 now has a fairly cheap resale price, from only 70 million VND on the used car market, equivalent to a mid-range scooter.
BYD F0 is 3,460 mm long, 1,618 mm wide and 1,465 mm high with a 2,340 mm long wheelbase.
The details on the center console area have a rather strange design with a round tube-shaped instrument cluster, a small LCD screen with integrated parameters and a speedometer to help drivers easily identify.
According to those who have used the BYD F0, this car model is quite healthy, with few minor illnesses, but the soundproofing layer is quite thin, so if driving on the highway, it will be quite uncomfortable.
