McTominay shines, Man Utd defeats Chelsea 3

(Dan Tri) – Fernandes missed a penalty early, but McTominay shined with a double against Chelsea to bring Man Utd a 2-1 victory at home in round 15 of the Premier League.

Man Utd was very thirsty for victory. With home field advantage, Ten Hag’s army pressed forward to attack and put good pressure on Chelsea.

In the 8th minute, the referee did not detect a foul by Fernandez on Antony inside the away team’s penalty area, but VAR did not ignore the Argentine midfielder’s situation of kicking his opponent’s foot with his shoe.

Fernandes missed the opportunity to open the score early, but `Red Devils` fans did not have to wait too long for the goal.

Chelsea had very few counter-attack opportunities, but the away team still had opportunities to equalize.

Chelsea’s counterattacks were finally successful in the 45th minute. Palmer accelerated strongly in the penalty area and then made a quick shot from the left to send the ball into the right corner of the goal.

In the second half, Man Utd continued to have sharper attacks than the away team.

Having taken the lead by Man Utd, Chelsea tried to rally but the away team played the second half ineffectively, not once having a shot on target.

After round 15 of the Premier League, Man Utd has 27 points, rising to 6th place but can completely return to 7th place if Newcastle wins against Everton tomorrow morning (July 13).
