(Dan Tri) – For more than 10 years, the Ford Ranger has always been the leading product and dominated the market, while many competitors appeared exhausted.
Ford Ranger is still the most popular pickup model in 2022
According to sales results announced by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), products in the pickup truck segment in our country in 2022 mostly recorded growth.
Among them, Ford Ranger still leads in sales with 16,447 vehicles sold, a slight increase compared to 2021 thanks to being upgraded to a new generation in August 2022.

Ranked 3rd belongs to Mazda BT-50 with sales results for the whole year 2022 reaching 758 vehicles, down 41% compared to 2021. In contrast, Isuzu D-Max recorded a sales increase of 160% in 2022 with sales
The last position belongs to Toyota Hilux with exactly 10 units sold due to temporary import suspension.

The `scenario` of the pickup truck segment in 2022 is basically the same as previous years, the only difference being the disappearance of the Hilux.
Possessing a comprehensive design transformation from the exterior to the interior, accompanied by many attractive modern equipment, the Ford Ranger in the last 4 months of 2022 is constantly `in short supply` to the point of being sold with `lost` 60 million.
Toyota Hilux will return in 2023
Since being upgraded to the new generation in 2020, Toyota Hilux’s consumption has improved significantly, rising to 2nd position in the segment just behind the Ford Ranger.
The reason is because the new version of Hilux possesses a strong and modern exterior design, suitable for the `taste` of the majority.

However, from the beginning of 2022, this pickup model was temporarily suspended from import because the engine did not meet Euro5 emission standards.
In addition to the upgraded engine to qualify for sale in our country, it is likely that Toyota Hilux will be added with some new equipment and a sporty GR Sport version.

Before temporarily suspending imports, Toyota Hilux had 6 versions with listed prices starting at 628 million and the highest up to 913 million VND.
If the price of the Hilux increases too much, this model will be difficult to compete with the Ranger and the `scenario` of the pickup truck segment will remain unchanged, products from the American brand will continue to be the best.
